Our initial challenge for this project was to find a problem space interesting enough to solve. From the initial suggestions provided as part of the project description, we chose to pursue the following role:

Nanny. Assists with planning and coordination of children’s enrichment activities.

The role description suggested that it would involve families with school-aged children, implying that the project might be more work than some other theme (an assumption that, in retrospect, proved to be correct). Yet the role was broad enough to evolve over the course of our project, subject to the lifestyles of the families that we could find. We also felt that designing a product/service for families with children, even though it was more work, would provide us a more enriching educational experience.
